Rubin A. Bergeron, age 91, passed from this life to meet his Savior on June 11, 2010 at 3:20 p.m. A native of Ashland, long time resident of Lafayette, and a resident of Houma, is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Coker Bergeron. He is also survived by his son; Dr. Glenn Bergeron and wife Ann of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Trudy Sasser and husband, Joe of Ocean Springs, MS; Deanna Domangue and husband Ronald of Houma; and Deborah Beddes of Plain Dealing, LA.; one sister, Betty Hebert of Lafayette, LA; 12
Grandchildren, Dolive, Nicole, Arlene, Melissa, Michelle, Joshua, Avril, Angelle, Thomas, Sean, Ryan, Dustin, Angela and Joanne; 17 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces
And nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., and on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., with burial in St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolive Eschete and daughter, Patsy; his parents, Oscar Bergeron. Sr. and Lillian B. Bergeron; one son, Lonnie R. McEachern, his brothers, Luby Bergeron, Sr., Oscar Bergeron, Jr. and his sister, Elma Vice.
A graduate of LSU in Production Petroleum Engineering, retired with Exxon-Mobile. He was active in the KC Council of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA, where he serviced as Grand Knight for two years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, craftsman, and avid golfer; but mostly loved and respected by all who knew him.
