On Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 12:22 p.m. Becky passed away at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Annunziata Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Annunziata Catholic Church with burial in St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.
Becky was married to Mike James Kreller from New Orleans, Louisiana for 34 years.
Becky was Mother to Mike Kreller, II and daughter-in-law, Nekki Dupre Kreller, Jennifer Kreller and friend Beth Guidry.
Becky was also Grandmother – “Grammie” to Jillian Renee’ Kreller. Becky is survived by her mother, Rose Mary Songe Whitney, three brothers, James Whitney, Jr., and wife Mona, John Whitney and fiancée Kathie Bunten, and Jeff Whitney and wife Lisa. Becky is also survived by one sister, Beth Whitney Hebert and husband Mark, all of Houma. She is survived by her mother-in-law Natalie Cambre Kreller. Becky was Godmother to Ryan Barrios and Jesse Hebert and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews – James, Matt, Monica, Kasie, Corey and Hunter Whitney, Jesse Hebert and Connor Chaisson, Andre’ Christopher, Matthew, Ryan and Katelyn Barrios, Stephanie, Laura and Stephen Kreller. Becky is also survived by 7 great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, James J. Whitney, Sr., her Paternal Grandparents – Hayes Whitney, Sr., and Maude Bergeron Whitney, and her Maternal Grandparents – Willis J. Songe and Margaret Boquet Songe, her father-in-law, James Harvey Kreller, and one nephew – Jeremy Alan Whitney.
Becky was such an active member of Annunziata Catholic Church. Although she wore many different hats at Annunziata, her passion was working with young people through youth ministry. She served as a youth minister for 16 years and 9 of those years were as Director of Youth Ministry at Annunziata Catholic Church. Becky’s generous heart, giving spirit, and her joy have influenced countless young people. Becky was a Mary Kay beauty consultant for 30 years. Becky loved life and it was truly evident by the way she lived her life and in the way she cared for others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
