Sidney Meche

Sidney Meche, 78, a native of Rayne and resident of Gray, died at 9:42 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Anders Meche of Gray; his mother-in-law, Pearl Anders of Houma; one son, Bud Brossette of Oklahoma; one daughter, Sue Ford of Texas; one brother, Anatole Meche of Mamou; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Meche and Alma Meche; five brothers, Forest, Clarence, Jessie, Masie and Harry Meche; and four sisters, Dovie Huth, Ella Arceneaux, Ruby Riley and Alice Blair. He was a member of Victory Christian Church. He was retired Roughneck of Wheless Co.
