William Newsom

William Hobson Newsom, Jr., 90, a native of Brenham, Texas and a resident of Houma, Louisiana died Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1:12 PM. Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Friday, May 28, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial at St. Elie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Duplantis Newsom, Houma, LA; daughter, Judith Newsom Pree, Pearland, TX; sons,William "Billy" Hobson Newsom, III and wife Nancy, Gray, LA and Michael Tucker and wife Carla, Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, David Pree, BJ Trahan, Kyle Davenport, Lisa Becker, Ricky Domingue, Amanda Ramirez, Jeremy Tucker; several Great Grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nephew, Chris Boldin. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Hobson Newsom, Sr. and Madeline Lands Newsom; sister, Celeste Mae Boldin and nephews, Arthur Lee Boldin, Jack Boldin and Bo Boldin. He was a retired from BJ Tools as a District Supervisor. He served in the Army Air Corps and the Calvary in World War II. He was a member of the Men's Bowling Association and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
