Cornelia Pitre Portier, 90, a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Visitation will be from Friday, May 21, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church, chauvin, LA. a Mass of Chrisitan burial will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with buriai in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Gladys P. Price and husband and Charles Price, Sr., Chauvin, LA; son, Renauld Jospeh Portier, Houma, LA; grandchildren, 6; great grandchildren, 9; great great grandchildren, 5 and one expected in October; step great grandchild, 1 and step great great grandchild, 1. Preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Portier, Jr.; parents, John Pitre ,Sr. and Marie Francis Autin Pitre; son, Richard Paul Portier; brothers, John Pitre, Jr., Elie Pitre, Howard Pitre; sisters, Margerite Rome, Westeria Carlos, America LeCompte, Rosanna Robichaux, Emily Long, Anise Savoie, Francis LeBoeuf, and Eldora Keefe. She was a Homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved gardening and her flowers. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was very fortunate to have seen and loved the fifth generation of her family. The family would like to thank Heritage Manor of Houma for all the care and generosity they have given throughout the past three years.
