Betty Sagona Vail, 68, a native of Houma and resident of Theriot, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by three sons, Wesley "Jughead" Leon Vail Jr. of Theriot, Frankie Allen Vail of Georgia and Wade Vail and wife, Trisha, of Arkansas; two brothers, Richard Sagona of Houma and Frank Sagona Jr. of Mira; two sisters, Anna Mae Sagona McElroy of Mississippi and Louise Sagona Ledet of Houma; seven grandchildren, Jammie Vail DeHart and Danny Jr. of Houma, Wesley "Buster" Vail of Houma, Eric Vail of Georgia, Megan Vail of Bastrop, Derek Vail of Hamburg, Ark., and Brett Vail and Kelsey Vail of Crossett, Ark. and five great-grandchildren, Celeste and Danny DeHart of Theriot, Wesley John Vail of Houma, Broooke Vail of Hamburg, and Logan Vail of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Leon Vail Sr.; her parents, Frank Sagona Sr. and Louise Ciccio Sagona; one daughter-in-law, Melinda Callahan Vail; two brothers, Anthony Joseph Sagona and Vincent Sagona and two sisters, Rita Sagona Lange and Katherine Sagona Reeves.
She retired from Wal-Mart after 15 years, a job she dearly loved. Her hobbies included having her hair and nails done and watching soap operas. She had a great love for animals.
