Lola Desselle Morello, 88, a native of Bordelonville, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana died May 15, 2010. Visitation will be in Baton Rouge at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 9:15 a.m.-11:00 a.m.and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be in Houma at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Recitation of rosary will be at 1:00 p.m. and funeral service 1:30 p.m. with burial at St. Francis de Sales #2 Mausoleum. She is survived by her son, Lawrence M. Morello and his children John, Jeffrey, and Jan Morello; Son, Jake J. Morello and his child Jay Morello; Brother, James Desselle; and Sister, Mamie Lea Coco. He is preceded in death by her spouse, Jake J. Morello, Sr; parents Mamie and Thomas Desselle; Lola (MawMaw) Desselle Morello died peacefully at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday, May 15, 2010. She was a native of Bordelonville in Avoyelles Parish and a long-time resident of Houma. Lola was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family and especially to her grandchildren whom she adored. She loved to cook and work in her flower beds and enjoyed Cajun dancing. MawMaw was filled with love for those around her and was always the life of the party. She was a small lady with a big heart who gave her love generously to all. She will be sadly missed by those left behind but will be welcomed into the loving arms of her maker and all of her family who have gone before her. She was preceded in death by her husband Jake J. Morello, Sr., her parents Mamie Reason Desselle and Thomas Desselle, and a number of brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly. Lola is survived by her older son, Lawrence Michael Morello, and his three children, John, Jeffrey, and Jan Morello, all of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her younger son, Jake J. Morello, Jr., and his son, Jay Morello, who live in Tennessee. She has one surviving sister, Mamie Lea Coco, of LaPlace, and one surviving brother, James Desselle, of Prairieville. We have all been blessed by being a part of MawMaw’s life and will always remember her love for us. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 18 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Baton Rouge from 9:15 a.m. until mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jerry Martin celebrating the mass. On Wednesday, May 19, there will be visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 1:15 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. led by Rev Domingo Cruz followed by burial at St. Francis de Sales #2 Mausoleum in Houma.
