Rose Marie Posey

Rose Marie Brown Posey, 75, a native of Del Rio, Texas, and resident of Houma, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. She is survived by one son, Nolan John Posey Jr. of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Lisa P. Chehardy of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan John Posey Sr.; her parents, James and Rosalee Brown; and one daughter, Carolyn Kay Smith. She was a retired schoolteacher at Acadian Elementary School for Terrebonne Parish School Board for more than 30 years. She was a member of the retired School Teacher Association, National Education Association and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Living Word Church.
