Amoron Randolph Blakeman, 91, a native of Morgan City, LA and a resident of Gibson, LA and Sevierville, TN died Monday, May 10, 2010.
Visitation will be held on
Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Bayou Black Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel Blakeman and wife Betty, Sevierville, TN, Ernest Blakeman and wife Lou, Gisbon, LA, and David Blakeman and wife Linda, Pigeon Forge, TN; daughter, Rhonda B. Harper, Gibson, LA; brothers, James "Chutt" Blakeman, Bayou Vista, LA, Timothy Blakeman, Schriever, LA, Jessie Blakeman, DeRidder, LA, and Frank Blakeman, Gonzalez, LA; sister, Ramona Crochet, Gibson, LA and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his
wife, Thelma Mary Boyne Blakeman;
parents, Jessie Arthur Blakeman and Mary Bessie Breaux Blakeman;
son in law, Joe Harper; sister, Windova B. Domangue and brother, Joseph Blakeman.
He was a retired chief Engineer for Sioux City Barge Lines.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He recieved the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
He was president of the Ostomy Association and he counceled people with cancer.
