Jaques Fortier

Jacques Lanauze Fortier, 91, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 6:40 PM. Services will be held at a later date at. St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 Cemetery in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his son, William H. Fortier and wife Deborah Samuels Fortier, Houma, LA; grandson, Jacques Armand Fortier and wife Jeanne Marrione Fortier and great grandchildren, Mia Clare and William Samuels Fortier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Treadway Martinez Fortier; parents, James Jacques Alcee Fortier and Marie Gelpi Fortier; brother, Alcee Jacques Fortier; sister, Marie Fortier Step Sister: Jacqueline Fortier. He was a retired Mortgage Banker and Real Estate Developer. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and served in the Pacific Theater. He was a Graduate of Tulane Engineering School. He was a member and former treasurer of the George Washington Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was in the Metairie chapter of the Rotary Club and he was past treasurer in the War of 1812 organization.
