Carol Alphonse Cantrelle, Sr., 77, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Wednesday, May 5, 2010.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, May 10, 2010 from at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 10, 2010 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife,Norma Kraemer Cantrelle, Houma, LA;
sons, Karl Alphonse Cantrelle, Sr., Houma, LA, Carol A. Cantrelle, Jr. and wife Karen Bass Cantrelle, Houma, LA, Abel A. Cantrelle and wife Amy Voisin Cantrelle, Houma, LA; daughters, Charmaine Cantrelle Chaisson and husband Lawrence J. Chaisson, Houma, LA; 8 gandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Stanley Cantrelle, Gerald Cantrelle
and sister, Janis C. Windham.
He is preceded in death by his
parents, Abel Alphonse Cantrelle and Effie Guidroz Cantrelle;
daughter, Wanda Cantrelle Romero and sister, Joyce C. Marcel.
He was the owner of Cantrelle Fence Company and Supply for 53 years.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Masonic lodge, Fraternal order of the Police, the Shriners, American Legion and VFW. He was retired with the Sheriff's department and started the K-9 Unit while there.
