Dwight Edwin Johnson, 72, a native of Swedonia, Ill., and resident of Houma, died 2:40 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Service will be at noon Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene Ann Jackson, of Houma; five sons, Dwight E. Johnson Jr. and wife, Edith, of Houma, Billy G. Johnson, of Houma, Dwayne E. Johnson and wife, Kelly, of Houma, Tracy T. Johnson and wife, Holly, of Rock Hill, S.C., Jaime R. Johnson and wife, Sheila, of Houma; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Ina Ladner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Johnson and Astrid Petersen Johnson; one daughter, Dayna F. King; and two brothers, Leland Johnson and Lyle Johnson.
He owned Industrial Products Manufacturing for 20 years. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He served in the Navy during the Cold War. He was an aviation electronics technician, second class, and received the Good Conduct Medal
