Barbara Price

Barbara Ann Lirette Price, 72, a native and resident of Bourg, died at 8:24 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Leroy “Pappy” Joseph Price of Bourg; three sons, Steve Price and wife, Sheila, of Bourg, Todd Price and wife, Cheri, of Lockport, and Jay Price and wife, Staci, of Bourg; two daughters, Cheryl Thornton and husband, Willie, of Bourg, and Sheila Deroche and husband, Dwayne, of Houma; nine grandchildren, Kristy Seay and husband, Kenny, Jarren Price, Tori Portier and husband, Shawn, Channing Deroche, Amber Deroche, Chase Price, Mary Price, Holly Price and Carsyn Price; two great-grandchildren, Breelyn Portier and Tenley Portier; six step-grandchildren, Dane, Lauren and Jace Thornton, Maddie and Mason Sampay, and Joshua Davis; three step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Colton Davis, and Cowen Thornton; two brothers, Curtis “Curt” Lirette and Donald Lirette; and one sister, Ernestine “Tennie” Lirette Pitre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Lirette and Elizabeth Ellender Lirette; one brother, Elmer Lirette; and one sister, Gloria Lirette Henry. She was a paraprofessional for the Terrebonne Parish School Board for 23 years. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She loved to sew, cook and fish. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her and lived life through their eyes.
