John Turegano

John Eugene Turegano, Jr, 64, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 6:05 PM. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 12:30 PM at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Boulevard, Biloxi, MS 39531-2410. He is survived by his daughters, Juilette Turegano Biondi and husband Ralph Biondi and Jeanne Turegano Miller and husband Shaun Miller; grandchildren, Ralph Biondi, II and Peyton Biondi, Shaun Michael Miller and Leah Miller; former wife, Patricia Deslatte Turegano. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Eugene Turegano, Sr. and Velma Walker Turegano and brother, Donald Turegano. He was a retired captain with the New Orleans Police Department. He enlisted into the United States Navy on April 30, 1962. He served in the Vietnam War and was assigned on the USS Forrestal. He recieved the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged on April 29, 1968. He enjoyed photography, and was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America.
