Fercy Joseph Guilbeau, Sr., 77, a native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 11:28 PM.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with burial in
Bayou Black Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife,
Betty Folse Guilbeau, Houma, LA; sons, Ferris Guilbeau and Fercy Guilbeau, Jr.; one daughter, Myrtle G. Babin and husband, David; son-in-law, William "Buba" Adams, Sr.,; step-daughters, Danette C. LeBlanc and husband, Noel, Kelly C. Levasseur and husband, Terry, Suzanne C. Manley and husband, Michael; brother, Fernice Guilbeau and wife, Dottie;
eight grandchildren, David Babin, Jr., and wife Lynda, Shelly B. Fontenot, and husband, Jonas, Kayla K. Cheramie, Brenton King, III, William Adams, Jr., Ross Guilbeau, Sarah Guilbeau and Fercy
Guilbeau, III; six step-grandchildren, Alexis LeBlanc, Lauren LeBlanc, Jeanne LeBlanc, Trent Levasseur, Elisabeth Levasseur and Colten Manley; six great grandchildren, Cullen Songy, Kaden King, Bryce Cheramie, Finn Fontenot, Mylan Babin, and Lanvan Babin; mother os his children, Dot Dail, and dearest friend, Ron Lapeyrouse.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Guilbeau and Elina Hayes Guilbeau; daughter, Darlene Adams, one brother, Lester Guilbeau, two sisters, Eve Robin and Mary Lasseigne, and one
step-grandchild.
He was a very patriotic American who worked and owned his oil field related businesses for 34 years. In his early years in Terrebonne Parihs, he was active in the Junior League of the American Bowling Association. His enjoyments included his camp, fishing, dancing, and reading. HIs family and friends will miss him dearly.
