Rex Joseph King, Sr. 72, a native and resident of Houma, LA succumbed to death after a lengthy illness on March 4, 2010 at 10:55 am.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Services will be on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.,
burial will be at a later date at St. Francis de Sales No.1
He is survived by his wife of 53 years of marriage, Julia Deroche King of Houma, LA; sons, Rex King, Jr., and wife Terri of Houma, LA; Sandy King and wife Ingrid of Lafayette,LA daughters, Bonnie K. Fortson of Thibodaux, LA; Marie K. Nelton and Hanson “Butch” Nelton of Houma, LA
Charlene King Coleman of Thibodaux, LA; Penny K. Scott and husband Stacey of Wilmington, NC;
brother, Michael Martin of Raleigh, NC; sister, Kathy M. Deroche of Albemarle, NC;
12 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He is preceeded in death by,
parents, Aaron King and Marie Cunningham King Martin; sister, Loretta King Pontiff and step-brother, Russell Trahan.
He was a member of BMI, a local songwriter – his greatest hit was “Don’t Rock the Boat,” he was a collaborator on the recent release of three cd’s; “Our Sweet Melodies”
“Pillow of Dreams” and “Nothing But Time”.
He was a Fishing Tool Supervisor in the Oilfield.
He was Christian.
