Clifford Abadie

Clifford L. Abadie, 83, a native of Edgard, LA and a resident of Houma,LA died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:40 AM. Visitation will be Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., and Monday,_March 8, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No.2. He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Mazerac Abadie; son, Wayne L. Abadie and wife Paula; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers, Melvin Abadie and wife Betty and Errol Abadie; sisters, Dolly Louviere and Clara Baudoin; brother-in-law, Donald Pitre; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Raymond (Irene) Abadie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Simeon Raymond Abadie and Aurore Cecile Waguespack Abadie; brother, Raymond “June” Abadie; sisters, Mercedes Cooper and husband Roy; Lucille Dupepe and husband Ferdinand; Grace Pitre;Carmen McDonald and husband John; Aurora “Ora” Dickerson and husband Raeford and brother-in-laws, Lloyd Baudoin and Alvin Louviere. He was a geophysicist for Exxon for 40 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of Exxon Annuitant Club, St. Francis de Sales Choir, St. Gregory Choir, Les Amis De La Chanson Choir and with Shady Acres Singers. He was a World War II veteran in the Army. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Special thanks to all of the physicians and staff who assisted in his care.
