Robert Pitre

Robert "Bobby" Joseph Pitre, Sr., 80, a native and resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, February 28, 2010. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 8:30 until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Clark Pitre; daughter, Cindy P. Boudreaux and husband Ronnie of Houma; sons, Bobby J. Pitre, Jr. and wife Dana of Thibodaux, Keith J. Pitre and dear friend Diane of Houma; step daughters, Jane T. Cole of Lafayette, Nita Frazier of Clearwater, Florida and Janita "Deetsie" Thibodeaux of Metairie; step son, Joseph Thibodeaux of Houma; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 10 Step Grandchildren; sisters, Ione "Toni" Stark of Houma and Connie Viguerie of Mississippi; brothers, Sterling Pitre of Chauvin, Kenneth Pitre of Houma, Blake Pitre of Houma and 10 Step Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Thibodeaux Pitre; parents, Harry Joseph Pitre, Sr. and Emily Bergeron Pitre; sisters, Beverly, Loyce and Joyce Pitre and brother, Harry Pitre, Jr. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was a professional musician and carpenter. He was an avid golfer. He had a great sense of humor and entertained all with his many jokes. He was a very loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him and he never met a stranger
