Melanie Louise McElroy Pellegrin, 67, a native and resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 5:50 AM.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at St. Ann Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. A private burial will be at a later date.
She is survived by her
husband of 47 years, Francis "F.J." (Frank) Pellegrin Jr.; her mother, Roberta Dorsey McElroy; three sons, Bryan Pellegrin and wife Jamie of Baton Rouge, Bruce Pellegrin and wife Stacey of Houma, and Brad Pellegrin and wife Jennie of Lafayette; and one daughter, Chari Langlois and husband Jimmy of Houma; five sisters, Norma Theriot and husband Bill, Mary Matherne and husband Peter, Liz LeBlanc, Julie Braud and husband Donnie, all of Houma, and Annette Fournier and husband George of Lafayette; two brothers, Fay McElroy, Jr., and wife Patricia and Danny McElroy and companion Renee' Romero, all of Houma. She was blessed with the greatest part of her life, her eight grandchildren, Brock, Brennan, Braeden, Emma Jane, Lucy and Grace Pellegrin, and Heather and Cody Langlois.
She is preceded in death by her father, Fay McElroy, Sr. and an infant sister, Alice Marie McElroy.
Melanie was a 1960 graduate of St. Francis de Sales School, a 25 year employee of South Louisiana Bank, and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was devoted to supporting the MacDonell Methodist Children's Center and the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.
