Harriet Hardeman Callahan, 87, a native of Montgomery, AL and a resident of Thibodaux, LA diedSunday, January 10, 2010 at 1:50 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 10:00 AM until Service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 12:00 PM Location: Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by,nieces, Gail Miller Tracy, Christine C. Hebert, Darnell C. Burkett, Joretta C. Landry and Jannna C. Positerry; nephews, James Miller, Gary Miller, Glen Miller and John Miller; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert A. Callahan; parents, Harry Hilliard Hardeman and Harriett Currie Hardeman; uncles, Brice Hardeman and William P. Hardeman and aunts, Minnie Currie, Ruby M. Currie and Bertha Currie Kinder. She was head of the Louisiana History Department at the Louisiana State Library in Baton Rouge from 1966 until 1980. She was a member of the International P.E.O. Sisterhood.
