Lydia "Toot" Ruth Blanchard Daigle, 91, a native of Bourg, LA and a resident of Gray, LA died Friday, January 8, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 12:30 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Pearlye Daigle Warner and husband Don of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Henry Evans Daigle and wife Frances of San Antonio, TX; John Nelson Daigle and Katherine of Taylor, MS; Maxine Daigle France and husband Doug of Manning, SC; Gladne Daigle Harris and husband David of Water Valley, MS and Opal Jane Daigle of McKinney, TX Grandchildren: Lee Allen Daigle, Jay Bentley Daigle, Melissa Croft, Tammy Parker, Howard Belanger, Jr; Marcel Belanger, Henry Daigle, Jr; Danee' Bertram, Nicholl Coupaud, James Daigle, J. Paul Daigle, Phoebe France, Nicholas Harris, Gretchen Harris, Jillian Harris, Brandon Daigle, and Jeniffer Sandzik; Great Grandchildren: Ross Daigle, Ben Daigle, Haley Daigle, Meaghan Daigle, Caitlin Daigle, Jessica Daigle, Amber Phillips, Rebecca Berry, Taylir McDermott, Mathilda Daigle, Liam Daigle, Connor Daigle, Adaline Daigle, Victoria Daigle, Caleb Daigle, Zoe Almarez, and Christopher Sandzik; Justin, Jared, Joshuah and Jesse Croft and Danica Reaney. Great-great grandchildren: Maylynn Daigle and Jake Daigle, sister, Daisy Blanchard Glass of Westwego, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Daigle; parents, Evans J. Blanchard and Theresa Theriot Blanchard; daughter, Rochelle Daigle Melancon Grandchild: Lane Daigle; great grandchildren, Braeden Berry; brothers and sisters, Oris Dupre, Morris Blanchard, Ferman Blanchard, Mazel Blanchard, Lloyd Blanchard, Mary Ann Matherne, Eloise Theriot, Iola (Patsy) Shea, Ella Mae Moritz, Daniel Blanchard, Ulysse Blanchard, E.J. Blanchard. She was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship She was a member of The Bayou Blue Mother's Club, the Garden Club. She was currently a Sunday school teacher of 4 year olds at Calvary Christian Fellowship Church. She took piano lessons from Michelle Lane and also taught piano until recently. She was a and worked at the polls for local elections until she was 90 years old.
