Jay Logan Martin

A native of Alton, Illinois and a resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at 6:20 AM at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 11:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Burney Martin, and two sons, Jonathan Martin and William Martin. His mother, Elizabeth James Martin of Houston, Tx; his brother, James Martin and wife Debora of Houston; niece, Sarah Martin and nephews, Kevin, Peter, and Michael. Mother-in-law, Rebecca Cumbie and brother-in-law Donald Cumbie of Columbus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Jay Martin, a native of Alton, Illinois. Jay spent 34 years in the maritime industry after graduating from Texas A&M University. His happiest moments were spent with his family raising his two sons, Jonathan and William. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
