Minus Joseph Blanchard, 67, a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 5:50 PM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Schmidt Blanchard; daughters, Laura Lee Blanchard and Paula LeBlanc and fiance Joseph Dufrene; grandchildren, Heather Deroche LeBlanc, Ashley Deroche, Matthew Prince; great grandchild, Lane Michael LeBlanc; sisters, Martha Savoie, Hilda Didier and husband Steve; brother, Mannuel Blanchard and wife Karen and sister in law, Flo Blanchard. he is preceded in death by his parents, Preston Gustave Blanchard and Hilda Dumont Blanchard; daughter, Donna Blanchard Prince; sisters, Evelyn Blanchard, Hazel Acosta; brother, Terry Blanchard; brother in law, Raymond Acosta. He was retired in the oilfield business. He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral He was a 3rd degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.He was loved by many and will be missed.
