Russell Fournier

Russell Fournier, 97, passed away Wednesday December 21, 2016 at 12:20AM. He was a native and resident of   Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday December 23, 2016 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 1:00PM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. Russell is survived by his, sons, Wayne Fournier and wife Jeanie, Wade Fournier Sr. and wife Paulette; sister, Barbara F. White; grandchildren, Wade Fournier Jr., Craig Fournier, Amy Trahan, and Christie Fournier;Great Grandchildren, Beau Fournier, Megan Fournier, Taylor Fournier, Alexis Giroir and Jessica Trahan; and great great grandchildren, Emma Fournier and Elise Giroir.  He is preceded by his, wife, Mary Frances Lirette Fournier; parents, Onezip Fournier and Clemence Breaux Fournier; brothers, Urbain “U.J.” Fournier, George Fournier, Louis Fournier, Onezip “Jr.” Fournier, Elmer Fournier, Daniel Fournier; and sister, Georgia F. Hebert. Russell was a avid square and round dancer. He also enjoyed spending time at the YMCA, and camping with family and friends. Russell was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and also a veteran of World War II.
