Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral for Shirley Lottinger Diviney, 85, who died June 23 after a long illness. Shirley was born Dec. 12, 1923 to Lawrence and Mabel Lottinger and was a lifelong resident of Houma. She was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and the New Orleans Business
School. Shirley worked for Texaco in the Employees Relations Department retiring after 34 years of service. She was a devout Catholic, a gentle and caring soul, with great love for her family and friends. Generous of spirit and heart, she was actively supportive of religious missions working with the indigenous poor. Shirley exemplified faith in action.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Divinely, her parents, sisters, Marie Lottinger Kimball and Dorothy Lottinger, her brother, L.J. Lottinger, Jr. and her nephew
Charles Kimball, Jr.
She is survived by her niece Mary Kimball Stokes, her nephews Danny Kimball and Randy Kimball, and an extended family of grand nieces and close, beloved friends.
Visitation will be at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
