Lydie Margaret Champagne Duplantis, 93, a native and resident of Houma died June 11, 2009. Visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home and Mass of Chrisitian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial in St. Francis No. 1 Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Sidney J. Duplantis, Jr. and wife Linda; Kenneth Duplantis; Ralph Duplantis and wife Sybil; Wayne Duplantis and wife Dolly; Donald Duplantis and wife Theresa; James Duplantis and wife Sally and David Duplantis; Daughters, Barbara Jordan and husband Charles, Wanda Dupre and husband Michael, and Gail Yancey; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband Sidney J. Duplantis, Sr., father, Wilfred Champagne and mother Justine Duplantis Champagne, Daughters Frances Xavier Duplantis and Susan Elizabeth Duplantis, half-brothers, Buvens and Maurice Champagne. She was a past member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Francis de Sales.
