Rodney Pierre Simon, 86, died Monday, August 3, 2015 at 07:47 AM. He was a native of Rayne and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 9:30 AM until funeral time at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his son, David Simon and wife, Lisa; daughter, Paula Simon Giles and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Jessica Martello, Jack Giles, Lauren Giles, Shawn Lapeyrouse and husband, Lonnie, Amy Simon, James Carroll, Natalie Carroll; great-grandchildren, Eve Robinson, Luke Lapeyrouse, and Leo Lapeyrouse. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jeanette Dugas Simon; parents, Elie and Eris Leger Simon. He served 4 years in US Army as a Corporal. He worked as a Machinist for 30 years. He enjoyed barbecuing for family, fishing, dancing, playing cards, watching tennis and watching game shows. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Recently he enjoyed outings with Paul Martello and Catherine Giles. Pop was loved by everyone.
