Bernice Mary B. Jarveaux, 91, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. until service time Monday at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda
D. Brashier of Houma and Mary Pamela Ford of Virginia; two sons, Frank J. Jarveaux
and Edmund P. Jarveaux, both of Houma;
one sister, Thelma Tribou of Gretna; nine grandchildren, Elissa McKenzie, Melinda Bachand, Benjamin Jarveaux, Angelique Naquin, Edmund Jarveaux, Jami Bennett, Kristi Jarveaux, Michele Young and Christopher Ford; and 14 great-grandchildren, McVea McKenzie, Scot McKenzie, Charlie McKenzie, Christian Bathhurst, Luci Naquin, Madison Jarveaux, Emma Bennett, Jordon Kniceley, Samantha Young, Paige Bachand, Matthew Bachand, Jace Jarveaux, Riley Young and Evan Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Benjamin Paul Jarveaux; her parents, Charles P. Breaux and Stella P. Breaux; one son, Charles Benjamin Jarveaux; three brothers, Charles Breaux, Kenneth Breaux and Walter J. Breaux; three sisters, Ruth Blanchard, Gladys Breaux, Margaret Breaux; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Brashier and Frankie Jarveaux.
She was a retired school teacher and parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church
