Louis Billiot

Louis Billiot Sr., 65, a native of New Orleans and resident of Thibodaux, died at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Marie Ismay Billiot of Thibodaux, one son, Louis Billiot Jr. and fiancée Dodie Scott of Houma; one daughter, Mary Pellegrin of Gibson; three stepsons, Albert Joseph Billiot and wife, Mae, of Grand Caillou, Anthony Billiot and wife, Earline, of Lafayette and Gene Billiot and wife Mary of Thibodaux; seven stepdaughters, Eva Savoie and husband, Terry, Sue Savoie and husband, Dale, Tullulah Billiot and companion, Eddie, Rose Billiot and companion, Harold Hebert, Janice Savoie and husband, Nolan, of Thibodaux, Angela Billiot of Lafayette and Shirley Billiot of Texas; one brother, William Billiot of Houma, four sisters, Mary, of Dulac, Onelia, Alice and Paula of Houma; five grandchildren, 39 step-grandchildren and 50 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Billiot and Louise Felicia Billiot; three brothers, Paul Billiot, O’Neal Billiot and Joseph Billiot and two sisters, Cecilia and Judy. He was a self-employed fisherman, jack-of-all-trades handyman and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
