Marie Louise Martin Vincent, 89, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Houma, died at 11:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St.
Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one son, Edward “Pookie” Cedotal and wife, Betty, of
Labadieville; three daughters, Jane Cedotal Morris and husband, Ed Morris, Virgie
Cedotal McGriff and Betty Lou Cedotal Teuton and husband, Joe, of Houma; one
sister, Alice Aucoin of Alabama; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile Martin and Avida Bourg Martin;
her foster parents, Emile Lauland and Eloise Martin Lauland; three brothers, Jeffery
Martin, Emile Martin and Brownell Lauland; and three sisters, Mable Bergeron,
Cyrelia Prejean and Mildred Martin.
She was former waitress and owner of Marie’s Restaurant in Napoleonville.
The family would like to give special thanks to Heritage Manor of Houma, for all the
good care and Hospice of St. Catherine. Thanks to all the nurses and aids who
took good care of her. She loved to paint and garden. She was a good and kind
mother always there for us children. She owned several restaurants in
Napoleonville.
