Genevieve Chauvin Eschete, 69, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of
Houma, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales
Cathedral. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis
de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Eschete of Houma; two daughters, Lisa
Eschete Mosely and Amy Eschete Keene of Houma; one brother, Lucius Chauvin
Jr. of Houma; three sisters, Gertrude C. Byrd, Shirley C. Brunet of Houma and
Virginia C. Harrington of Lafayette; endeared family member, Percy Mosely; two
grandchildren, Ross Michael Keene and wife, Katie McCoy Keene and Olivia Claire
Mosely; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Lynn and Breanna Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius Chauvin Sr. and Olivia Picou
Chauvin; one daughter, Donna Claire Eschete; and two sisters, Evela Chauvin and
Ella Mae C. Champagne.
She was a retired jury commissioner with Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Court for 27
years. She was a very dedicated employee.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
