Allen John Detiveaux Sr., 73, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 06:50 AM. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Monday, June 23, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00am at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Carolyn Bergeron Detiveaux, Son: Allen "Butch" Detiveaux Jr. and wife Evette, Daughters: Cynthia Detiveaux Bergeron and husband Danny, and Monica Detiveaux Monti and husband Garrett, Brothers: Reynold Detiveaux and wife Jeanette, and Donald Detiveaux and wife Faye, Grandchildren: Brett and Lerin Bergeron, Brandon and Justin Haines, and Mariela Monti. He is also survived by many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents: George and Violet Chauvin Detiveaux, Granddaughter: Abby Bergeron, Brothers: Irving, A.J., Alton,Rufus, Leslie, and Charles Detiveaux, and Dale Hughes, and Sister: Georgia Detiveaux Martin. He was a member/parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Allen was a devoted family man who never met a stranger. He was a retired employee of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church, an active member and past president of the Houma Civitan Club, and a member of Knights of Columbus Posts 6170 and 13819.
