Desmond Smith

Desmond Noel Smith, 71, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 11:36am. He was a native of Belfast, Ireland and a resident of Houma, LA.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. He is survived by his, Spouse: Lois Jeanne Smith, Sons: Desmond Jr. and wife Karen of Huntsville AL, Timothy J. of Columbus, IN, Alec H. Wildwood, NJ, Daughter: Lois J. Lirette and husband Leland of Houma, LA, Grandchildren: 14 He was preceded in death by his,Parents: Alec Smith and Marie Burke Smith  He was an avid sailor. He served as a boat captain in the oil and gas industry and on private sail boat charters in the Virgin Islands.   He was also self employed as a machinist with his own shop. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
