Cecil Joseph Bordelon, 83, a native of Moreauville and resident of Houma, died at 9:14 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Dena Yarbrough Bordelon of Houma; two sons, William "Billy" Bordelon and wife, Mary, of Houma, and Bruce Bordelon and wife, Iola, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; three daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Trosclair and husband, Ronnie, of Houma, Kay Guidry and husband, Steve, of Spring, Texas, and Ann Picou and husband, Robbie, of Houma; one stepdaughter, Trish Pleasant and husband, Jeff, of Key West, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Greta Bordelon of Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Bordelon; his parents, William Stevens Bordelon Sr. and Mathilde Marcotte Bordelon; one brother, William S. Bordelon Jr.; one sister, Mathilde B. Montgomery; and one brother-in-law, Bob Montgomery.
He was a retired superintendent for Terrebonne Parish School Board, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Retired Superintendents Association, Terrebonne Retired Teachers Association and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
