Lloyd Anthony Positerry

Lloyd Anthony Positerry, 70, a native and resident of Houma, died at 8:55 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, due to complications following heart surgery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A military service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial following at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Bergeron Positerry; one son, Lloyd A. "Andy" Positerry II and wife, Jessica Callais Positerry; one daughter, Christina M. Positerry; three grandchildren, Blair Positerry, Joseph "Joey" Positerry, and Alex Positerry; two brothers, Joseph "Jake" Positerry and wife, Barbara, and Kerrel Positerry and wife, Janna; two sisters, Diana Wheeler and Gaynell Allen and husband, Tom Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Anthony Positerry and Dessie Olivier Positerry; and one brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Weaver. He was the sales manager for Exploration Supply Co. and was a past board member of Terrebonne General Medical Center, Ellendale Country Club and Krewe of Houmas Carnival Club. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He was a devoted and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
