Genevieve Marcello Haydel

Genevieve Marcello Haydel, 74, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 1:30 p.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her husband, Karl Gerald Haydel Sr., M.D. of Houma; four sons, Karl Gerald Haydel Jr., M.D., Michael Stephen Haydel, M.D., Henry "Larry" Haydel, M.D., and Patrick Samuel Haydel, D.C.; five daughters, Heidi Haydel Bealer, Carol Ann Haydel, Charlene Haydel Hebert, Genevieve Haydel Juneau and Michelle Haydel Capello; two sisters, Rose Carbello and Iona Bergeron; and 20 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Marcello and Marie Thibodeaux Marcello. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
