Oscar Anthony Usie, Sr. , 77, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 6:30 AM. He was a native of Bayou Blue, LA and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc..
Burial will follow at Grace Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
He is survived by his
sons, Euia Usie and wife Jayne, Houma, LA, Oscar Usie, Jr., Thibodaux, LA,
daughters, Lajohnna Traigle and husband Wayne, Bayou Blue, LA, Lana Scott, Bayou Blue, LA,
grandchildren, Jamie Usie, Shelley Usie, Casey Usie Braud, Gil Traigle, Jake Traigle, Dana Pitre, Dawn Authement, Christian Usie, Oscar Anthony Usie, III,
great grandchildren, Kriss Usie, Logan Usie, Karlie Porche, Landon Euia Porche, Riley Claire Braud, Hunter Braud, Brooklyn Porche, Aden Pitre,
sisters, Clarabell Dufrene, Gaynell Van Lu, Arlene Guidry,
half brother, Buddy Bennett and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Patsy Trammell Usie, father, Euia Paul Usie, mother, Octavia Sutton Bennett,
step mother, Verna Usie, daughter, Patty Usie Dudley and brothers, Euia Usie, Jr., Lynn Bennett.
He was a member of His House Tabernacle.He was a longtime employee of E.A Savoie Store and retired from J. Ray McDermott. He served in the United States Air Force the the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and his passion was baseball, softball and his beloved New Orleans Saints. The family would like to thank the Staff of The Oaks of Houma for every kind word and deed that they did for him and the love that they showed him throughout his days there. They would also like to thank Dr. Russell Henry for his care that he has given throughout these last few years along with the staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center especially his nurses, CNAs on down to housekeeping for their attention and the care of his and the families needs.
