Royal “Roy” Joseph Rhodes

Royal “Roy” Joseph Rhodes, 75, a native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, died at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 to funeral time at 9:00 A.M. Monday at First Baptist Church, with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Baker Rhodes of Houma; one daughter, Shirley Kufel and husband Ralph of New Iberia; one sister, Marlene Authement of Houma; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred J. Rhodes Sr. and Angelina Courteaux Rhodes; and one brother, Wilfred J. Rhodes Jr. He worked as a salesman for K-Mart and served in the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Louisiana.
