Caledonia "Callie" Frederick Crawford

Caledonia "Callie" Frederick Crawford, 85, a native of Abbeville and resident of Houma, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by three sons, James Crawford and wife, Janice, of Potomac, Ill., Michael Crawford and wife, Sue, of Alabama, and Roy Crawford Jr. and wife, Beverly, of Kansas; three daughters, Laura Edwards and husband, William, of Lafayette, Susan McChesney and husband, Charles, of New Orleans and Margaret Lee and husband, John, of Houma; one sister, Lula Mae Says of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Duncan Crawford Sr.; her parents, Marcel Frederick and Aurelia Touchet Frederick; one son, Martin Crawford; one great-granddaughter, Anna Maria Sollars; and one sister, Thelma Landry. She was the retired manager with D.H. Holmes and was a homemaker. She was a member and past regent of Catholic Daughters Court Cardinal Gibbons as well as past state district deputy. She was also instrumental in the founding of the Arts and Humanities Council of Houma. She was a member of the Pink Lady’s Volunteer at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Surgery Lobby, a member of the Houma Garden Club, and Tree Committee in Broadmoor Women’s Club. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
