Octave "O.J." Foucheux

Octave Joseph Foucheux, Jr., 85, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 9:12 a.m. He was a native of Gibson and a resident of Houma. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Service time will be at 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Yvonne Domangue Foucheux, 3 sons, Jay Foucheux and wife Barbara of Hempstead, TX; Richard Foucheux and wife Mary Jeanne of Silver Spring, MD; and Timothy Foucheux and companion Carole Duval of Houma; daughter-in-law Angela Foucheux Hernandez of Haughton, LA; 4 granddaughters, Shelly Foucheux Lauland, Joanna Foucheux, Nina Foucheux, and Meaghan Foucheux; and 2 great grandchildren, Chloe Lauland and Zachary Lauland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave J. Foucheux, Sr. and Lydia Landry Foucheux; brothers, Daniel Foucheux, Stanley Foucheux, Lionel Foucheux, and Irvin Foucheux; and sisters, Louise F. Guidry and Audrey F. Chauvin. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and a parishioner of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He was a barber in downtown Houma for over 60 years. He loved cooking and woodworking. He was dedicated to his family and was happiest when surrounded by his wife, children, grand daughters, and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Alzheimer’s Association.
