Robert Elvis Lacour, 88, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:50 AM.
He was a native of Lafayette, LA and resident of Clinton, MS.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 10:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
He is survived by his,
daughter, JoAnn Lacour Stokes and companion Steve Kelley, Clinton, MS, Debbie R. Pullaro and husband Don Pullaro, Houma, LA,
grandchildren, Shelli P. Beiza, Erika S. Bourgeois, Lauren Stokes,
four great grandchildren,
sister, Lou Ann Songy, Luling, LA,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his,
parents, Horace Lacour, Sr. and Girdie Hoffpavir Lacour,
brother, Horace Lacour, Jr.
Mr. Robert first entered the United States Navy on September 10, 1941. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He recieved numerous awards including, American Defense, Good Conduct, Navy Occupation and World War II victory medal. He retired from the Navy as Quartermaster First Class on December, 1963.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association.
