Horace Wayne Vowell, 68, died Friday, August 10, 2012 at 5:47 PM. He was a native of Lake Providence, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 11:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM with burial following at Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his, wife, Susan Freeman Vowell of Houma, LA, sons, Kevin Wayne Vowell of Lafayette, LA, Perry Travis Vowell of Lafayette, LA, Jody Lee Vowell and wife Angie Daigle Vowell of Cypress, TX, and Scotty Blanton Vowell of Prairieville, LA, sisters, Linda Ann Woodall of West Monroe, LA and Geraldean Sallas of Houston, TX grandchildren, Colin Andrew Vowell, Ethan Hart Vowell, Tristen Hailey Vowell, Shelby Lee Vowell, Jolie Christine Vowell and Talynn Alexis Vowell. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Horace Blanton Vowell and Annie Mae Sykes Vowell. He worked in the oilfield and traveled the world. He loved to fish and enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his garage. He had a great sense of humor and brought a lot of laughter to his family and friends. He cherished most in life spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
