Gilbert Talbot

Gilbert James Talbot Sr., 80, died Friday, June 29, 2012. He was a native of Morgan City, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his, Son:Gilbert "Gil" Talbot Jr. and Deborah Talbot; Daughter: Melinda Talbot Lantrip and William Tieken; Brothers: Russell Talbot Sr and late wife Iris Gaston Talbot, and Riley Talbot Sr. and Sylvia Cunningham Talbot; Grandchildren: Sunny Lantrip, Lindsay Talbot, Layne Lantrip, and Gilbert "Gibby" Talbot III; and Sister In Law: Gwen Renynolds Talbot. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his, Spouse: Joyce Savoie Talbot; Parents: Ernest and Leona Kern Talbot; Brother: Charles C. Talbot, and Ernest Talbot and wife Francis G. Talbot. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served on the Terrebonne Levee Board since 1992. He was the founding father of the Montegut Hunting club, established 1960. He was a barber in Montegut for 59 years.
