Norman Joseph Hebert, 87, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:05 AM.
He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, June 18, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:00am at First United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church.
Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by his,
wife of 51 years, Shirley Marcel Hebert, daughter and son in law Terri and David Hebert, grandchildren Stephanie, Brandon and Kelly Hebert, son and daughter in law Troy and Lisa Hebert, grandchildren Amanda and Alex Hebert, daughter in law Martha Hebert, grandchildren Jonathon Hebert and wife Andrea, Katie and Chrissy Hebert.
He is also survived by his great grandchildren Willow, Jack, and Xander Hebert, brother and sister in law Royal and Lynn Hebert, sister and brother in law Henrietta and Don Journey.
He was preceded in death by his,
by his son Timmy Hebert, his mother and father Aline and Dennis Hebert, one brother Raymond Hebert and sister Ruth Funk.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family. His life was centered around his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He passed that tradition to his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren and great grandchildren loved their "Paw Paw".
He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an alumni of LSU and a devoted fan. He retired as an engineer from Schlumberger after 35 years.
He will be dearly missed; but will always be in the hearts of his family. His legacy will live on.
