Fred Claude Goodrow, 86, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at 5:55 AM. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 9:00 AM until Service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial: St. Joseph, Thibodaux, LA. He is survived by his, Wife of 63 years, Carolyn Coulon Goodrow; Son, Fred Goodrow and wife Dianne; Daughters, Ann Goodrow, Carrie Goodrow, Jane Daigle and husband C.J. Daigle, Jr., Martha Rosen, Evelyn Craton and husband Mike Craton; Grandchildren, Fred Goodrow, Andrew Goodrow, Erin Goodrow, Kaitlin Simmons, Ryan Daigle, Jess Rosen, Lindsey Rosen, Alyssa Craton; Great grandson, Fred Goodrow; Brother, William Goodrow He was preceded in death by his, Parents, Fred Felix Goodrow and Margaret Evelyn Rose Goodrow; Sister, Edith Poelman Bermudez. Fred was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was a long time employee of Southland Dodge and served as the general manager. He was a past president of the Houma Automobile Dealers Association. He was a former member of Thibodaux Fire Company No.1. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Lions Club. He was a member and supporter of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association. He was a generous supporter of his grandchildren's schools in Houma, Lafayette and New Orleans. The Goodrow family would like to thank the following people who provided loving and compassionate care during his illness, Dr. Russell Henry and staff, TGMC CCU, 4th floor nurses and staff, and The Physicians Alliance Hospital of Houma nurses and staff. The family would like to express their gratitude to caregivers Tammy, Gayle, and Suzzannie.
