Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, wife, Darnell Callahan Burkett, Houma, LA, children, William Burkett and companion Becca Blouin, Houma, LA, Ashley Burkett, Houma, LA, Marisa Mikel, Lake Jackson, TX, Nicole Pierce and husband Kipp, Houma, LA, Holly Griffin and husband Miles, Houma, LA, Jerome "Pepe'" Chauvin, Jr. and wife Alonna, Houma, LA, father, Lafayette William Burkett, Sr., grandchildren, Brayden Rhodes, Darien "D.J." Tolbert, Jordan Tolbert, Dillion Tolbert, Jamar Alston, Jr., Tia Mikel, Sophia Pierce, Cameron Griffin, Shannon Liner, Heather Kraemer, Dylan Griffin, Shane Garnett, Jr., Grayson Garnett, Hunter Chauvin, Kelsey Solet, Cullen Chauvin, Chloe Chauvin, four great grandchildren, sisters, Sharon Floyd, Carol Hensley, sisters in law, Christine and husband Richard, Joretta and husband Ronnie, Janna and husband Kerrell and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his, mother, Dorthea June Tidwell Burkett, son, Lafayette "Bucky" Burkett, III. He retired from the Oilfield as a salesman. He served in the Navy during peacetime. He enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden and loved the New Orleans Saints. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
