Mae Soudelier

Mae Mary Whitney Soudelier, 96, a native and resident of Houma, was received into her heavenly home at 8:38PM, Sunday, April 15, 2012. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 9:00AM untill funeral time at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00AM at Chauvin Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by four sons, T.J. Soudelier,Jr.; and Lanier Soudelier, Sr. of Houma, LA, Kent Soudelier, Sr. and wife Alice of Houston, Texas, Warren Phillip Soudelier and wife Rachael of Patterson, LA, two daughters Carolyn S. Boudreaux and husband Whitney J. Boudreaux, Jr. of Houma, Linda S. Pepper and husband Ronald Pepper of Houma, LA. One brother Daniel Whitney and wife Willie Lou of Houma and one sister Pearl W. Gros and husband Wilbert Gros of Labadieville, LA, 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and counting, 16 great-great-grandchildren and counting. She was preceded in death by her husband Thaddeus J. Soudelier, Sr.; her parents Robert J. Whitney and wife Alcina Rhodes Whitney, one son Morris Soudelier, Sr. and four brothers; Willie, Sewele, Robert A. and Fay Whitney, and one sister Rita W. Malbrough. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She retired from Terrebonne General Hospital as a nurse-attendant after twenty-four years. She participated in the birth of many of her grand-chidren. She had been active with her arts and crafts and poetry writings. She was a Catholic and a life-long parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church. Her life revolved around her children whom she referred to as her seven jewels. Her faith in God has carried her to her eternal home. Special thanks to father Vic of the Cathedral of St. Frances de Sales, Deacon Douglas Authement, Stat Home Health Care, and H.L.
