Adonis Toups

Adonis Philip Toups, 71, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at 4:30 pm. He was a native of Gibson, LA and resident of Schriever, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 9:00 am until funeral time at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by his nephew, Father Mark Toups, will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday at St. Bridget Catholic Church Burial will follow St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his, wife, Fay Aucoin Toups of Schriever, LA, daughters, Donna Fay Toups Guidry and husband David of Schriever, LA, and Tanya Lynn Toups of Schriever, grandchildren, Brian C. Guidry, Seth David Guidry, Mason Alexander Guidry and Trevor Louis Eschete sisters, Diana T. Durham of Metairie, LA, Priscilla Pendzimaz of Metairie, LA and Nannette Schmitt and husband Mike of Punta Gorta, Florida, brothers, Prosper Toups, Jr., and wife Beverly of Houma, LA, Al Toups of Thibodaux and Nathan "Peter" Toups and wife Denise of Houma. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Prosper Jean Toups and Wilma Victoria Uzee Toups and sister, Esther Toups. Adonis was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He was a retired teacher and coach from the Terrebonne School Board. He was actively involved in parish recreation and was an advocate for the victims of domestic violence. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he lived for his grandchildren.
