Ruth Hochenedel Robichaux, 89, died Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:39 PM. She was a native of Alexandria, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 from 8:30 AM until service time at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 She is survived by her son, John "Dupe" Christopher Robichaux, New Orleans, LA, daughters, Virginia Robichaux Pellegrin and husband Myrden, Houma, LA, Patricia Robichaux Gilbert, Baton Rouge, LA, daughter in law, Pam Robichaux, Houma, LA grandchildren, Andree' Pellegrin Bourgoyne, Louis Pellegrin, Mimi Pellegrin, Amanda Robichaux, Aimee Robichaux, Megan Robichaux, Ryan Robichaux, Tyler Robichaux and Erin Gilbert, great grandchildren, Anna Ruth Bourgoyne, Brady Bourgoyne, Riley Grace Pellegrin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Joseph Robichaux, sons, Ernest "Ernie" Ray Robichaux and Edward "Eddie" Lee Robichaux, parents, Edward Lee Hochenedel, Sr. and Virginia Marsh Hochenedel, brother, Edward Lee Hochenedel, Jr. Ruth was a founding member of the Maria Immaculata Parish, the Legion of Mary, and was a eucharistic minister. She was a teacher at St. Francis de Sales School and a guidance counselor at Vandebilt Catholic High School for 20 years. As the original organizer of the Terrebonne Tennis Club, Ruth pursued and shared a passion for tennis. She was also an avid golfer and loved to fish. She will be remembered for her indomitable spirit and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Vandebilt Catholic High School Endowment Fund.
