Sheila McCoy Smith, 75, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at 3:30 PM. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 9:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Magnolia Cemetery She is survived by her, daughters, Gwen Smith Apanowicz and husband Gerald V. Apanowicz, Katy, TX, Amilie Smith Belanger and husband LeRoy J. Belanger, Jr., Houma, LA, Mary Kay Smith Naquin and husband Larry Naquin, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Michelle Ann Ledet and husband Jeffy Ledet, Timothy Joseph Belanger and wife Stacie Belanger, Lindsey Leigh Apanowicz, Ethan Michael Belanger and Joel Anthony Belanger, sister, Jewell McCoy West. She was preceded in death by her, husband, James Cecil Smith, parents, John McCoy and Priscilla Toujan McCoy, brother, John E. McCoy. Sheila was a caring and compassionate nurse at Terrebonne General Medical Center for many years mostly working in the nursery. She was a past member of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She enjoyed art, painting, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
